The is Australia's first feline-focused festival.bIt is all about education, adoption and celebrating everything that makes our cats such a pleasure to own!

Meow meow to fellow feline fanciers - this show is celebrating the love for these unique and intelligent animals.

The is aimed at informing as well as entertaining cat lovers in a truly meaningful way. It will be held at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne, on 8th and 9th September 2018, from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm.

Organisers also work closely with shelters across Australia. They endeavour to have more cat adoptions, whilst educating the community about responsible cat ownership. The event will also celebrate cat "pop culture" and show you why owning a feline is seriously cool, and proving that the "crazy cat lady" is but a myth!

So, the cat is now out of the bag - Melbourne is finally getting a major feline-inspired festival with "cattitude"!

Program
  • ROYAL CANIN STAGE
  • The Royal Canin Stage will present expert tips for a healthier, happier cat. It is the best place to learn about education and all about cats. There will be presentations from Australia's leading vets, experts, trainers and behaviourists.

Dr Katrina Warren will be the MC all day and will explain how to keep your cat happy indoors and how to keep your pets in "purrfect harmony".

Celebrity Vet, Dr Harry Cooper will go through some of the common health problems. Dr Harry will also explain how you can solve these problems, as well as choosing the right cat for your lifestyle.

National Geographic Wild's own Ben Britton will run through the similarities between wild and domesticated cats. While behaviourists, Rose Horton will explain how to talk to your cat and Dr Jo Righetti will teach you about common cat behaviour problems.

Kerry Gill will also show you how you can train a cat to perform commands, including sit, stay and recall!

  • CAT ADOPTION ZONE
  • The Cat Adoption Zone will be a wonderful opportunity to learn all about cat adoption, as there will be many rescue groups here. You will discover whether it is the right thing for you to adopt a cat, what is involved, and how to find a cat to suit your particular circumstances.

With the support of the public, organisers feel sure that this first will help to improve the lives of many more cats.

Qualified staff will also be there to advise you of all the shelters in Victoria, as well as the cats that are available to adopt now. Most of the exhibitors in the Cat Adoption Zone will bring cats along to the show and these will be available for adoption - so you can actually meet many rescue cats at the event.

Check out all the shelters/exhibitors that will be at The Cat Lovers Show.

  • BREED SHOWCASE
  • The Breed Showcase will bring a wide variety of cat breeds for you to meet and interact with! There will be ones that are common and rare ones for visitors to get up close and "pawsonable", along with The Governing Council of the Cat Fanciers Association, Ancats and the Feline Control Council.

This first 2018 Melbourne show Breed Showcase will be a rare opportunity to find out information and learn more about a wide range of cats.

Visitors will be able to see some of these breeds being featured at the Pat-A-Cat zone, where you can meet, cuddle and get to know the breed on a more personal level. The Purrfect Match feature also helps you decide which are the best breeds to suit your lifestyle. They have a detailed questionnaire and large information posters on display to help you.

This is a list of cat breeders who will be at the show.

  • PET CIRCLE COLOSSEUM
  • The Pet Circle Colosseum will feature many of Australia's most talented cats in action! There will be some amazing shows here with some of Australia's best cat experts, trainers and entertainers.
