While travelling home one cold and stormy night, I saw a cat sitting all alone on the side of the road. I decided to stop to see if the cat was okay and to my horror I found the cats was extremely thin. I immediately picked him up and took him home for the night. I created a little bed for him, gave him some tuna (fit for a king) and popped him in my bathroom which is the warmest room in the house. My next step was to figure out what to do with him.

As I was renting, I was not allowed any animals. Besides, it looked like this cat needed more than just a warm home. He was very thin and looked like he needed special attention.

I phoned a friend of mine who had dealt with lost animals before and she suggested I visit .

The next morning I popped the poor chap into a box with his little duvet. I noticed that he was so weak that he could not go to the bathroom in the sand box I made him, and had, as a result, soiled his bedding.

can be found in Shenton Park. It took me about 30 minutes to get there. I was a little concerned that they would turn me away. I was not to sure what I would have done if they did, because I am not allowed to adopt a cat.

To my surprise, they were very friendly and accommodating. The staff came to check the cat and was extremely compassionate when they felt how thin he was. They took my details, and the details of where I found him. They immediately went through records to see if he matched any missing cats that were reported lost. They also said that they would contact local vets in the area to see if someone reported him missing.

is a rescue centre for lost and abandoned cats. Their facility is extremely pet friendly with a little play centre where cats that are up for adoption can meet their future family.

If you ever find a cat that has been abandoned, or is lost, should be your first port of call. From my understanding, is the only place you can go with lost and abandoned animals. While they don't ask for donations, they are dependent on donations to help them continue this service. And if you are looking to adopt a cat, why not pay a visit. That purrfect addition to your family may just be waiting for you at .
