The City Of Charles Sturt Council is holding a cat and dog micro-chipping day on Saturday 19th July at the Civic Centre in Woodville.

Micro-chipping is an effective and easy way to ensure that your pet stands the best chance of finding its way back to you if ever he/she becomes lost.

What's a microchip? It's a tiny chip, about the size of a grain of rice and it's injected under your pet's skin. The microchip holds a unique code which holds the information about you and your pet. The information is added to the National Microchip Database.

If your cat or dog is lost and then found, the vet clinic or animal shelter simply wave a scanner over the animal and then refer to the database to locate the details of their home.

The Council are offering micro-chipping for a cheaper than normal price. Micro-chipping done on 19th July will be only $25 per pet.
