A new regional film festival
The inaugural Castlemaine Local & International Film Festival (CLIFF) will take place from 21 to 24 November 2013 at the Theatre Royal, Castlemaine.
During the festival it will feature documentaries, short films, local film competitions, discussions and activities from countries including South Korea, North Korea, Hungary and the USA.
A tribute to President John F. Kennedy will take place because CLIFF takes place on the 50th anniversary of the assassination on 22 November 1963. "JFK Assassinations Redux" will have its Australian premiere, a rare and provocative documentary feature, expert guests and original artifacts from the scene of the crime.

Forbidden Planet, a film for the whole family will be hosted by Space Commander Johnny and Galactic Empress Evie Danger. Other children activities include building a giant cardboard robot or fly a spaceship.
Gary Foley will be a special guest to introduce some provocative short films of Richard Bell.
CLIFF co-director David Thrussell said "Festival goers can expect a wide palette of films which otherwise wouldn't have the chance to see in a regional area".
If you enjoy a wide range of movies, head to the first ever film festival in Castlemaine. It's an easy 90 minute drive from Melbourne.
