Bringing local farms and kitchens directly to you

On the first Sunday each month, Victory Park in the centre of Castlemaine becomes a colourful sea of people and marquees beneath leafy aged trees.

Accredited with the Victorian Farmers' Markets Association (VFMA), Castlemaine Farmers' Market offers a large range of local produce that is grown or made within a one-hundred kilometre radius of Castlemaine.

An additional feature of the market is its Produce Exchange, which commences at 11.00am. You can bring your home-grown produce, preserves, seeds, or seedlings, and exchange them for goods brought by other participants.

A playground, free face painting, and local music and entertainment are also available for families.

Once you've eaten brunch or lunch, sipped on coffee made from locally roasted beans, sampled all the delicious fare on offer, and purchased your favourites at the Farmers' Market, you can stroll down the street to the Castlemaine Artists' Market, which is also held on the first Sunday each month, in the courtyard at the rear of the Theatre Royal.
