Castle Season 7 - TV Series Review
Season Seven of Castle
originally aired in America in September 2014 and had 23 episodes in total, and extra being ordered shortly after the series started airing.
The seventh season picks up a few months after the events ending season six, Castle (Nathan Fillion) is still missing after his car was run off the road on the way to his marriage to Kate Beckett (Stana Katic). Part way through the first episode we find out he's been missing for two months, when he is found abandoned at sea, with no memories from the time he's been gone.
As the season progresses, we have the usual murders for Castle, Beckett, Esposito (Jon Huertas) and Ryan (Seamus Dever) to solve, but the main theme is Castle trying to figure out where he's been, what he's done and why, especially since it interrupted the wedding.
Castle also opens his own private investigation business, mostly hoping it will help him with his own problem, but also to keep him distracted from him not writing so much. Eventually, all the flashbacks he has about his missing months lead him to a waiter in a restaurant, who gives him a clue to the time, the CIA is involved!
The final episode of the series, which feels like it was written in case there wasn't an eighth season, has Castle involved in a case which stretches back some thirty years, to the reason he became a mystery crime writer, he witnesses a murder and it appears the murderer is back!
Season seven of Castle
had many ups and downs - ups included Castle and Beckett FINALLY getting married, something many fans had been waiting ages for, and an interesting episode where Castle and Alexis (Molly C Quinn) have to solve a murder on a plane mid-flight. But the ongoing saga of the 'missing months' does tend to drag at times and take away from some of the usual banter and funny moments during the murder investigations.
Overall season seven of Castle
is worth the watch for fans of the show.
