Starring Nathan Fillion,
Castle is a TV series about an author who gets to follow a New York detective around for his new book idea.
Richard Castle (Fillion) is a popular author living in New York with his daughter and mother. Twice divorced - making him a very eligible man - the series opens with a party for the release of Castle's latest book in which he's killed off the main character.
He's suffering writer's block and when he's called in to help on a case based around the murders in his books, he meets Detective Kate Beckett - a sassy, driven woman with a secret. After helping her solve the case, Castle manages to weasel his way into following her - making her his muse for his new character Nikki Heat. Castle actually proves useful to the detective team, coming up with different spins on cases that sometimes actually prove correct.
After learning the secret of why Beckett joined the police force, Castle starts sticking his nose into places he shouldn't and the series ends with Beckett kicking Castle to the kerb.
Full of whit and some bad puns (think Grissom on the original
CSI) this is a good series to get yourself lost in. There's also a cameo of Fillion's old
Farscape costume....
