On Friday 16th March to Sunday 17th, the Hills District and Castle Hill Agricultural Society put on their annual 3-day showground extravaganza. Held at the Castle Hill Showground and now in its 126th year, the
Castle Hill Show is an event that's equivalent to Sydney's Annual Royal Easter show.
There are two main ways for visitors to get to the Castle Hill Show. The first and perhaps most convenient option is of course to drive. Be aware that there may be limited parking available on site during the 3-day event. If you want to try the public transport option, there are bus services running from the Castle Towers Shopping Centre down Showground Rd.
This show has everything you would expect to find. Wander the countless exhibits featuring photography, art, crafts and animals. The farmyard barn is a popular pit stop where kids can get up close to cute baby lambs, calves and puppies. Holding a fluffy baby chick is an awesome experience and not just for the kids.
Witness live arena events such as show jumping, the ute muster and wood chop competition. Whatever your interests, there's plenty to see and do throughout the day. Of course, a trip to the show wouldn't be complete without stopping for obligatory show bags. With a wide range available, everyone in the family is sure to find what they want.
The Castle Hill show is open from 9am to 9pm. Cost wise this is a good alternative to the Easter Show and a great day out for all ages. If you've never been before or want to get a head start on your show bag collection, this is a good opportunity to check out everything the 2012 Castle Hill Show has to offer.
