Mixing up the market scene every third Saturday of the month
When you're just getting your feet wet in the vast ocean of markets, I'd suspect the whole process could be mighty daunting. Wondering whether many people will turn up, are the stallholders reliable, is this whole thing going to get off the ground? That's why the Castle Hill Mixed Market is keen to get the word out. Working hard to let the big wide world that they are there, the newcomers are ready and raring to show the people just what their little market is made of.
[ADVERT]The Castle Hill Mixed Market is held at the Castle Hill Showground on the third Saturday of each month between 9am and 2pm, offering a variety of stalls, activities and entertainment for all the family to enjoy. Averaging around 40 stalls a market, most of which are manned by the makers of the handmade products themselves, there is plenty to peruse and snap up for a weekend treat.
If these markets are unfamiliar to you, then it must be a bit hard to gauge just what will be on offer, so you best get a little better acquainted with some of the stalls and the goodies they have to share. Obviously I can't name them all - there are far too many to go through - but here are a few select stalls that certainly caught my eye.
Markets are always a great day out for the whole family and while picking up a treat for yourself is satisfying, there's nothing like finding a little something to brighten up someone else's day. For those with rug-rats running around, you can't go past Originals by Valerie and Precious Pixies Children's Clothing and Accessories. These unique, handcrafted designs are just the trick to dress up the little tots, with hats, beanies, booties, dresses and more to choose from.

For a treat of a rather more soothing variety, you can't go past Tranquil Treats Candles. These all natural soy wax candles come in a variety of jar styles, sizes and of course scents, allowing you to choose the perfect aroma to relax you at the end of a long day at the markets.
If you'd love to make a difference to the lives of others, then it's worth taking a look at the Destiny Rescue stall. Destiny Rescue is a not for profit organisation rescuing children from lives of sexual slavery and providing them with the support and preparation they need to begin a new, safe, healthy and happy life. They are taught how to create jewellery, bags, scarves and clothing, all of which are for sale at the Destiny Rescue stall, with all profits going directly back into this great organisation.

With all that shopping under your belt, you might need to undo said belt after you take a visit to the food stands. Happy Waffles and CoffeeNOVA will have you covered for your morning, midday or afternoon pick-me-up. Happy Waffles makes their waffles extra special by using their unique key ingredient of Belgian pearl sugar. Who knows why it makes them so good, but it sounds delicious to me.
Don't forget that it's not just about the stalls. There will be free face-painting from 10am to 1pm and live musical entertainment between 11am and 1pm, as well as a big ol' bouncing castle to jump away all that excess energy. There's plenty on for young and old at the Castle Hill Mixed Market, so head out and show your support on the third Saturday of each month.
