Finding a place to get out from the wind is an excuse to find something new about the area you are in...in this case it's a library.

Libraries have books, but these days there's a lot more to a library than you think.

My first visit to was a pleasant surprise for a number of reasons. The library is fairly new and open with large glass windows, so you don't feel cooped indoors. Secondly the library is modern so you can expect new computers to use and even iPads (they are locked and cannot be removed). There are study rooms and meeting rooms to use.

There is a large reference area with plenty of seats with power points for students to bring their laptops to do some study and there is a small kids area set up with turrets.

They even have an information area for council news where you can make enquiries and get applications. There is also a JP available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at certain times. They have book clubs, a knitting group and even a movie night!

What's unique about this library that I have yet to see in any other library is that there is a cafe inside. That's right, a place that allows you to eat in a library! There's plenty of seats to enjoy something to eat while reading or browsing through the large selection of books.

If you want to check out at Cnr Castle & Pennant Sts, Castle Hill 2154
