I enjoy writing about my adventures, great and small.

Castaways Beach is situated on the Sunshine Coast, seven kilometres south of Noosa Heads. This golden stretch of sand lies against a pristine ocean, untouched by development. Being an off-leash dog area, fluffy pooches can be observed frolicking along the water's edge.

Offering a touch of privacy, its location is just far enough away from the popular tourist beaches. For those seeking a more relaxed experience on the Sunshine Coast, Castaways Beach provides the perfect environment.

While not patrolled by lifesavers, there are still people enjoying a dip in frothy surf.

The area is also popular among wind surfers, who put on spectacular displays as they glide from wave to wave.

We visited the Sunshine Coast on Boxing Day. While finding a park around Noosa Heads proved impossible, it wasn't a problem at Castaways Beach. Escaping the holiday crowds was a welcome relief too.
