A place for kids to learn road safety

Casey Safety Village (CSV) is a super cute miniature replica of Victorian roads for kids to ride around on their bikes or scooters and learn important messages about road safety, fire safety, train safety and more.

CSV offers school holiday programs for parents to register their kids to come for the day and take part in this awesome initiative.
Kids can bring their own equipment, or borrow a bike and helmet for a small fee. It is highly recommended that you bring your own bikes from home as kids feel more confident riding their on bike.

Kids will be encouraged to ride around on the roads, making sure to stop at stop signs, at school crossings, and roundabouts. They also try to remind kids to ride to the left, but this can be forgotten when there are so many kids riding about.

Throughout the day, you will have an opportunity to hear about fire safety, with members of the CFA coming out to talk to kids about what to do in an emergency.

The Life Ed van will be on site, offerin different sessions for groups of kids to come in and see Harold the Giraffe and learn about the dangers of drugs, the benefits of healthy eating and more.

Visiting the Casey Safety Village a few years back with my niece was a very rewarding day and she had a lot of fun. The miniature roads are a real novelty and there is so much to do and learn about here. They deliver their programs in a way that is exciting and interesting for kids that they want to listen and learn, but also very beneficial and informative. It offers parents a chance to learn about these situations to and how to instill this in our kids.

The cost for a kid to attend a program at the village is only $6.50 per child with adults and care givers being free.

There is no food facilities at the village and limited seating, so it is recommended you pack lunch and bring along some camp chairs or picnic rug for you to sit on while the kids ride around.

I would recommend this place to every parent who has young kids and to bring them every school holidays or at least twice a year.
It is a very valuable and rewarding school holiday activity which they will always remember.
