The month of August in 2014 is dedicated to promoting small businesses, and 340 events around Victoria are being held to cover related topics.

To mark the event, the Casey Cardinia Business Group has organized a Business Week from 25 August to 30 August 2014, during which a myriad of workshops and seminars are being held to help and support the small business community of the region.

The kickoff event will be held on Monday, 25 August at 10am at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, Pakenham. Small business growth is directly dependent on networking, and this event focuses exactly on how to run a small business using the latest tools and technological services. There will be an opportunity to learn about the government support for small businesses. The highlight of the event is a chance to listen to inspirational stories of women who have made a successful career out of online entrepreneurship. The cost to attend is $60 which includes lunch and refreshments. All guests at this event will receive a copy of the eBook "The Mavericks", a handy tool with practical tips on how successful online entrepreneurs have made it to the top.

On Tuesday, 26 August, the following two events will be held:
Digitise Your Business at 9:30am (cost $20), which will focus on digital office technology to help boost business. Secrets of project management success will be held at 11am (cost $20) will focus on tools and techniques for success in projects. Both events will be held at Telstra Business Centre, (Shop HM12, 1 Overland Drive, Fountain Gate).

Another session entitled "How to build a support network for great success" will be hosted by the Women Making it Work business network and present by Jen Harwood, who is a leadership expert and a business coach. This session will be presented at Narre Community Learning Centre (1Malcolm Court, Narre Warren) at 7pm and costs $30.

On Wednesday, 27 August, Pete Donlan (Managing Director of SuperMedia Group Pty Ltd and JPM Media) will present a 2 hour session on "Understanding digital media" at the Cardinia Cultural Centre at 6:30pm (Cost $20).

If you are "Concerned about protecting your business and its assets", There is a 3 hour workshop on Thursday, 28 August at the Cardinia Cultural Centre at 6:30pm (Cost $20). Presenters are Greg Howes and Gavin Adkins, who have a wealth of knowledge gained over their extensive experience in the field.

On Friday, 29 August, there are two presentations being held at the City of Casey Civic Centre (Magid Drive, Narre Warren):

"Creating effective videos for websites" will cost $40 and will be held at 9am - 11am.
Build a strong online presence" will cost $20 and will be held from 11am to 12:30pm.

Business Networking" forum will be held on Saturday 30th August at Toomah Community Centre (Pakenham) from 10am to 12pm (Cost $20). This seminar is hosted by Living Learning Pakenham, a member of the Casey Cardinia Alliance of Learn Local.

In addition, the small business bus will be at the Pakenham Place Shopping Centre Car Park on Wednesday 27 August from 10am to 4pm, and at the Cranbourne Homemaker Centre Car Park on Thursday 28 August from 10am to 4pm. The bus is operated by Small Business Victoria as a traveling office on wheels.
