Back in 1972, a dream was fulfilled and Casa del Disco opened its door to the public. Forty one years later, still in the family, this tiny music shop is still the place to go for all things Italian.

Behind the LP decorative doors, there lay the CDs of all the Italian music industry, and also a huge range of Italian movie DVDs. There's audio for kids learning Italian, and a huge range of knick knacks, including the famous singing hamster.

There couldn't be an Italian shop so close to Norton Street that didn't have the Azzurri soccer shirts, so of course, it also sells those - that World Cup comes around quickly!

The most intriguing thing, if you look around the walls, is that big name Italian stars have visited the store. Their photos grace the walls with the owners, Patrizio appears to have made a purchase there, as he holds the disc bag up in the picture!

Just remember, just like in Italy, the shop closes for lunch - so don't turn up between 1.30 - 2.30, unless it's a Saturday, when the shop closes at 2pm.

There's easy parking on Palace st, so for a little culture shift, head down to the Casa del Disco - you're bound to find something to delight!
