Carte Crˆpes is a student-driven creperie smack bang in the middle of University of Melbourne. The kids, who go by the monikers, "The Crepe Crusader" and "The Scribe" are sweet, adorned in mulberry red aprons, and the cart's the real deal, like the ones you find on the Champs de Elyss. It's the stuff baguettes dream of.
So, you got the modest lemon and sugar, that's four dollars. But that's nothing, a paltry shadow of Mr.Nutella and Banana which is only two and a half bucks more.
There are savoury ones too, ham and butter a formidable player. The price is a bit questionable considering it's marketed towards students but it's a sustainable, student-run business with a conscience. Their crepes are made from free-range eggs, plain flour, milk, and a pinch of salt, with produce sourced locally if possible.
