Carss Bush Park is located in the Sydney suburb of Blakehurst and overlooks Kogarah Bay and Georges River. It is the perfect family park as it has a large playground, plenty of covered picnic tables, a sheltered beach with shark nets, a separate BBQ area and toilets.

The playground has equipment for small and older children and an enclosed variety swing has also been installed. Part of the playground is sheltered by shade sails and there are plenty of large trees that also provide shade.

The park has plenty of grassy areas for children to play on and although there are footpaths throughout the park, scooters and skateboards are not allowed in the play area, however on the outskirts of the park is a long bike track.

A newly renovated Carss Park Café & Grill is situated near the playground and is open for breakfast and lunch every day and for dinner Thursday to Saturday. It has indoor and outdoor seating for 80 diners and serves modern Australian cuisine.

The beach has no waves and so is ideal for even young children to play and swim. The sand is dark brown on top and almost black underneath. It is ideal for building sandcastles and great sand sculptures. The park/beach area can be quite windy, so bring a windbreaker, especially in the cooler months.

Free parking is available at a nearby carpark and there is also a large oval and outdoor exercise equipment as well as an indoor swimming pool.
