Director John Lasseter has entered the driving seat for a sequal to the much loved Golden Globe winning 2006 movie "Cars." With the producer of "Ratatouille," Brad Lewis, taking the passenger seat as co-director, and with Dennis Ream - associate producer of "Up" and visual effects executive producer of Star Wars Episode 3 - taking on role as producer.

After Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) found a best friend in the always loyal tow truck Mater (Larry the Cable Guy), they now embark on an adventure that takes them all around the world.

When Lightning McQueen gets the chance of a life time to race in the first ever World Grand Prix, he asks his best friend Mater to come with him as a member of the pit crew. However, Mater finds himself on his very own out of this world adventure, when he gets mistaken as an American secret agent.

Lightning McQueen takes his chances in the 3-part exhibition race that will take him to Japan, Italy and England, with his new custom paint job and even real working headlights. As Mater tries to be there for his best friend in the biggest race of his life, he has to race against British spies and international bad guys, in the most explosive chase this small town tow truck has ever seen, through Tokyo and Europe.

McQueen and Mater meet a range of colour characters on their international adventure, including Finn McMissile master British spy (Michael Caine), Francesco Bernoulli chief rival of McQueen (John Turturro), Okuni a micro car Kabuki dancer, sumo wrestlers Pinion Tanaka and Kingpin Nobunaga, plus a whole lot more.

Cars 2 is going to be the biggest adventure in four wheels of 2011, that both young and old will be sure to enjoy. Cars 2 hits the road on June 23rd in Australia, June 24th in the USA and July 22nd, 2011 in the UK, and can be seen in Disney Digital 3D and in normal cinemas.

Don't miss this explosive, out of this world adventure from Dinsey/Pixar films.
