Beach themed playground ideal for kids in summer
Kingston Council recently completed a redevelopment of Carrum Foreshore, which incorporates a new Carrum Surf Lifesaving Club building, a boardwalk, and a new Carrum Foreshore Playground with public toilets.
Carrum Foreshore Playground is mostly gated and fenced, making it ideal for younger children that have a tenancy to run off! There are a handful of wooden deckchair seats, as well as two under cover picnic tables, each with a shelter which reflects beautiful colours from the sun.
This is one of the closest playgrounds you'll find next to a beach in Melbourne's Bayside. In theme with the beach, you'll find sand throughout the play area, a little lighthouse complete with telescopes so the kids can play pirates and look out to sea, a boat and play equipment decorated with sea creature to explore.
Parking is limited, but available. If you hold a Kingston Council Parking Permit which is available to all Kingston Council residents, then parking is free. Without a permit, parking is metered. If driving in the opposite direction to the CBD, look for a blue sign marked 'Beach Parking' on the Nepean Highway, just after Carrum train station, and turn right to the get to the car park. Alternately, Carrum Foreshore Playground is walking distance from the same train station.
