I'm a mum of teenage boys living in Mindarie and enjoying all that life in Australia has to offer. I am always looking for something new and taking time to enjoy the little things in life.......

Perfectly situated in Murray Street, Carpe Coffee caught my attention with the sign - 'May the Fourth Be With You'. Not that I am a Stars Wars fan, but I am always in favour of humour to start the day.

Well, all I can say is the fun did not stop at the sign. I was welcomed by a cheery 'Good Morning' from what I can only describe as a cross between Chewbacca and Princess Leia. Not a menopausal woman at all, but the owner dressed up for the occasion; Princess Leia headwear and a full beard, which definitely made me smile.

Then there was Darth Bell, I mean Darth Maul, and even the bin had morphed into R2D2. Bell has the most amazing skills as a face painter and created the artistry herself - amazing.

Atmospheric Setting
Watching you watching me...

As I sat enjoying my coffee, taking in the surroundings, I realised there was more to this little coffee shop; a Nintendo gaming station, retro arcade machine, artwork, collectors figures and the list goes on. The subtle touch of random dinosaur toys, Mario Kart, board games, Superwoman and Batman - a match made in heaven if I do so say so myself, all brought back many happy memories.

Cassette tapes forming art on the wall and funky furniture all add to this atmospheric coffee shop.

There was a steady stream of customers from local businesses and passersby like me, maybe not necessarily Star Wars fans either, but definitely patrons of the friendly, fun and professional staff.

Carpe Coffee stocks the new design environmental coffee cups which seem to be collectors items with various colours all to match your mood, your outfit or even your hair! All cups currently come with 2 free coffees and a snazzy bumper sticker - also available in all 3 sizes.

Fun with friends

If you want to enjoy your coffee in an "an energy field of creativity", in a coffee shop not so far ,far away, that is obviously a labour of love for the owner, then I highly recommend Carpe Coffee.
