Chicks Conquering Cancer invites you to a - fish from the bank, canoe, kayak or boat and help raise funds for Prostate Cancer Foundation - Australia. Added benefits of this event is to help restore balance to the dam.

The carp is an undesirable species of fish that should be removed from our waterways. Carp cause their main environmental impacts through their feeding habits. As adults, they usually feed on the bottom of rivers and ponds. They feed by sucking soft sediment into their mouths, leads to a suspension of sediment in the water. They make rivers muddy messes by disturbing the banks, compete with native fish and eat native fish eggs and their young. With remarkable reproductive capabilities, few natural predators and a lifespan over 15 years, carp have become an international pest and one of the world's most invasive species.

Wyaralong Dam was completed in 2011. It is nestled at the base of Mt Joyce north-west of Beaudesert on the Teviot Brook. It is one of the popular tourist attractions of the Scenic Rim region. It's a beautiful drive to the venue. Invite your friends to this event and share in some awesome prizes. Fishing worms for the will be on sale on the day, and every $2 per sale will be donated to the Charity. Weigh in will be at the boat ramp.
