Experience an unforgettable underground opera
Your visual and auditory senses will be in overdrive when Underground Opera present Carols in the Reservoir from 9 to 22 December 2022.

You might be thinking, did I read this correctly? An underground opera? Yes, that's right. Brisbane's unique Opera Company will be bringing an unmissable musical experience by performing at the one and only 150 year old Spring Hill Reservoir during the Christmas season.

Audiences will take a deep dive six metres underground, in the historic water reservoir, in Brisbane's CBD for a show of festive favourites. The show will feature performances by Ms Rebecca Cassidy, Ms Louise Dorsman, Mr Jon Maskell and Mr Glen Lorimer accompanied by the incredible Mr Mark Connors. The company work by the motto of delivering "Extraordinary performances in breathtaking spaces" and the reservoir is undeniably one of them.

About the Reservoirs
Brisbane's Reservoirs in Spring Hill were a part of the Brisbane water supply system until 3 September 1962, when the water main from Enoggera Dam collapsed. The reservoirs were later shut down since their small capacity and low elevation meant that they could no long serve the growing development of high-rise buildings within Brisbane's inner city.

Described as Brisbane's Underground Opera House, they provide the perfect space for the melodic acoustics of operatic voices.

The reservoirs are located behind the Old Windmill Tower in Wickham Terrace Spring Hill.

Ticket prices are: ADULTS $95.00, CONCESSIONS $85.00, and CHILDREN $60.00. The show is limited to 100 seats per performance and at 1:30pm and 7:30 pm - so don't miss out on this incredible musical experience to mark the festive season.

Spring Hill is one of Brisbane's oldest inner city suburbs within walking distance of the Brisbane Central Business District. Don't miss out on this unforgettable vocal and festive event which you will be talking about for years to come.
