Let there be light
A perennial crowd pleaser right around Australia is the annual Carols by Candlelight. In Adelaide, held by the banks of the River Torrens in Elder Park, this spectacular event is attended by thousands of happy families, equipped with picnic baskets and candles and ready to join in with the stars of stage and screen who feature in the lineup.
For over 70 years, Carols by Candlelight has been a universal favourite and it's not Christmas without the Carols! The entrance fee (a folded note, please!) this year goes towards the Novita Children's Services, helping South Australia's children with disabilities or special needs.
On Sunday December 13th, the program starts early in the afternoon with lots of fun things for kids and at 4pm, a screening of the movie 'Home Alone'. At 7pm, there;s a chance for everyone to sing out, with Community Carols, followed by a stunning stage show featuring performers such as Anthony Callea, Rhonda Birchmore and Samantha Jade, plus Peter Combe, the ASO Ensemble and the Flaming Sambuccas - something to please everyone.
And after the music is over, a fantastic fireworks spectacular will round off the evening at 10 pm.
