It's bigger, better, safer and more fun than Titanic
Prepare yourself for a holiday that you have never experienced before, an adventure that may never have crossed your mind. Prepare yourself for a Carnival cruise.

Also known as the FUN ship, Carnival Spirit became the first ship of the American Carnival fleet to permanently dock outside American waters. It is nearly three times a football field in length and can hold 2124 passengers (along with 930 staff), which makes it the largest ship to call Australia home. Carnival Spirit departs from Sydney or Brisbane and itineraries include trips to New Caledonia (South Pacific Islands), Vanuatu, New Zealand, Fiji and along Australian coastlines. Carnival Spirit has taken cruising in Australia to a whole new level.

To the cooks of the household, imagine not having to cook for the length of your stay. From La Playa Grill to Empire's Dining Room to Nouvea Restaurant, there is something for everyone (and most of it is free).

La Playa Grill offers a variety of choices, including an Asian bar, a Deli, a Salad Bar, Snags and Pies bar and a dessert bar among others. It also has a daily Chef around-the-world special which includes food with a French, Mediterranean, Greek, Italian and American influence. Along with twenty-four hour pizza and ice cream, the food in La Playa Grill appears nearly all day and is a great place to casually meet up and eat with new-found friends.

Empire's Dining Room, also known as the Main Dining Room, is a sit down, a la carte type restaurant. The food here is of excellent quality, while the wait staff and maître d' are second to none. When you see the lights dim between the main course and dessert, get your cameras and dancing shoes out for yet another special touch Carnival has added - 'ShowTime'. What is 'ShowTime' I hear you ask? You will have to see for yourself – I will not ruin the surprise for you.

Nouvea Restaurant, the specialty restaurant on board, is well worth the $35 surcharge per person. Here, you experience not only beautifully cooked lobsters and steaks, but the ambience of the restaurant adds another element to your cruise. Nouvea is situated on the top deck under a see-through roof. You can take the glass elevator up or for those more game, try the glass staircase. The sunset and ocean in the background provides a stunning backdrop for a romantic dinner with your special one.

To the cleaners in the household, you no longer need to worry. The cabin stewards are phenomenal. They clean your cabins twice a day and make every effort to get to know your name. They even leave a little surprise for you at night.

To the mothers, treat yourselves. Book an appointment to Spa Carnival (surcharges apply) where they have an extensive range of treatments including facials, hair treatments, massages, body scrubs and more. Or maybe take a walk down the Fun Shops aisle where you can grab a few duty-free bargains. After that, grab a book from the library, sip on a cocktail and relax in a hammock in Serenity – the adults only area.

To the fathers, explore the bars. Grab a beer and cheer on your favourite sports team in the Sports Bar. Or even better, visit the recently-upgraded gym or take a gym class. Situated at the front of the ship, not many other gym classes can offer you a 180 degree view of the ocean. Not really a sports guy? Check out the comedy club in the Versailles Lounge. There are five different clubs to experience and they have everything from live karaoke to night clubs.

To the children, have an adventure. Carnival's kids programme is fun and exciting and includes scavenger hunts, video and arcade games, movies and discos. Join in the fun and make new friends. Alternatively, put your brave faces on and try the brand new Green Thunder waterslide. A bit too scary? Try the WaterWorks Water playground, mini-golf, basketball or ping pong instead. Or maybe you just enjoy playing in the pools and spas. Whatever it is, have fun.

To the family, go see the production shows together. They have everything from New Orleans type shows to comedy and magicians and they are not to be missed. The family comedy club will provide laughs for the whole family. Get dressed up together for the formal nights and themed nights (Mexican and Caribbean) and allow the professional photographers to work their magic. Regardless of the busyness of the day, put aside quality time to spend as a family. What more could you want from a fun holiday?
