Educate, Equip and Empower
The Carly Ryan Foundation is presenting an evening to learn about how to keep your children safe online, a very pertinent topic as increasingly we find so much time is devoted to our screens. This is a FREE event happening at Christies Beach Football Club on May 13, 6.30pm to 8pm. Check out the Facebook events page here
The background to the Carly Ryan Foundation is that it was formed in 2010 following the murder of Carly Ryan, aged 15 years, by an online predator and paedophile posing as a teenage boy. The foundation operates by a constitution dedicated to providing both educational awareness and the prevention of physical, emotional and sexual abuse of youth online.
Their vision is an Australia united in a commitment to safer communities through crime prevention, harm prevention, victim support and awareness as well as addressing the physical, emotional, sexual and psychological impacts of online crime. For all Australian children and families to have a positive experience online.
Services offered by the foundation include Project Connect, which is a FREE program that provides online safety education for schools, colleges and organisations.
