Many of us love all things Italian and in particular, their pasta and their food in general. This event is going to celebrate all things Italian and will be on Sunday 22nd October 2018. It will be held at the Piazza Italia, Lygon Street, Carlton. This Piazza is part of Argyle Gardens and is an outdoor square that often holds community events and festivals.
This Festa is also sometimes referred to as the Lygon Street Fiesta, or La Dolce Italia. It will be on from 11.00 am to 9.00 pm, giving you plenty of time to join in this fun day!
As well as great food, there will also be great stage entertainment, sporting activities, vehicle displays and a craft market. Here you will be able to buy souvenirs and much more. There will be carnival rides as well as many cultural activities and an extensive collection of Italian antiquities on display.
For the serious coffee drinkers, there will be a choice of good Italian style coffee. You will be able to sample a vast range of Italian food including freshly-made pizza or authentic lasagna. After that, you will be able to choose from a range of decadent desserts and even a good wine or two!
Some of the food vendors who will have their Italian food at this Festa include:
Italian biscuits
Abruzzolab - they will once again be making their superb Italian street food, arrosticini
And in the Gusto Italiano marquee, there will be cooking demonstrations including:
Arancini Art - this is all about how to make genuine Italian arancini!
There will be plenty of bands as well as DJ's who will make sure there is music for you.
So come and check out this great festival and experience all the things that are great about Italy.
There will be heaps more happening at this one-day event, so keep checking their
website here to find out more.
If you intend to drive to this Event, use the Lygon Street Car Park 204 – 218 Lygon Street, Carlton. Prices for this Car Park are $8.00 all day from 7.00 am to 11.00 pm. Please note that generally when this Festa commences, both ends of the street are closed down. This is to make space for the cafes, food stalls and shops that will stay open over the festa.
