Carl's Jr. is now open in Bateau Bay on the Central Coast.
As the burger war heats up in Sydney, American burger restaurant Carl's Jr. quietly opened up in the holiday seaside town of Bateau Bay.
Known for it's table service and freshly prepared ingredients, Carl's Jr. is not just another burger chain, but a standard other fast food chains in Australia could learn from and aspire to. Carl's Jr. offers premium ingredients as the norm such as 100% pure angus beef on their Guacamole Bacon Thickburger or Portobello Mushroom Thickburger.

They use freshly baked buns and serve natural cut fries (a little bit of skin left on) so their fries are extra tasty and crispy. I thought their burgers were bigger than McDonald's, and a
Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger Combo at lunch meant I didn't need any dinner.

They offer burgers to suit many tastes including 100% chicken breast burgers, low carb thickburgers, served in a lettuce roll instead of bread, and chicken salads. They also offer a substantial breakfast menu including burgers, pancakes and scrambled eggs.

They offer three varieties of fries including:
Natural Cut - A little bit of potato skin left on
Crisscut - More like ridge cut chips
ChiliCheese Fries - Natural cut fries smothered in mince and cheese
As well as hand-breaded onion rings.

Their angus beef thickburgers come in the choice of 1/2 pound or 1/3 pound and they have kids meals which come with either a cheeseburger or hand-breaded chicken tenders; which are 100% breast meat, unlike the processed nuggets of other burger chains. You can easily taste the difference.
The Chicken burger range all use 100% breast meat.
The 'all you can drink' beverage bar at Carl's Jr.
Meals come with a choice of sauce to dip your chips or chicken in including BBQ, honey mustard or ranch and the all you can drink beverage bar featured a cool electronic display to dispense your drink.
Table service may not seem like a big deal when you still have to order at the counter but it means staff are more aware of how clean the seating area is, which makes for a more pleasant dining experience. There are no gimmicky toys with the kids meals, just quality ingredients in a filling serving.
All meals are served in a little basket which seemed more hygienic than the usual trays used in fast food outlets and meant kids meals stayed on the table, rather than spilling onto the floor. Unfortunately we didn't have any room left for dessert but I have had their
Oreo Hand-Scooped Ice Cream Shake before and it was amazing. Overall, service was quick, food was delicious and premises were spotless. A napkin dispenser at every table doesn't seem like a big deal but it was a nice addition on top of everything else.
