Ahoy there me hearties, are you ready for a swashbuckling pirate adventure on the Yarra?
The Australian Shakespeare Company introduces the Caribbean Pirates to the Polly Woodside Tall Ship on Melbourne's South Wharf this January, in an exclusive hour-long interactive theatre production, performed on the shore and on the decks of the ship itself.
Major Key, Larry (who should be Sally!) the mysterious Gypsy Pirate, Empty Drawer, Scurvy Dave and the 'baddy' pirate Captain Cutthroat, tell tales of their life at seas.
The Buccaneers, with help from their trusty new crew; the lads and lasses in the audience, go in search of lost gold on shore and on The Polly Woodside ship. The tale ends with an epic battle to capture Captain Cutthroat, and find the missing treasure map.
If you're up for some hearty pirate action this January, 10am and 6pm shows continue to run through to 25 January, tickets can be booked online here. Cash sales from the on-site box office from 30 minutes prior to the performance start time (subject to availability).
If you are attending a 10.00am show you can tour the Polly Woodside after the show for an extra $5.00 – payable on site to the Polly Woodside staff.
