A stay at home Mum who doesn't stay at home much; too many exciting things to be discovering in this city...
Roll Up, Roll Up
If you want to earn points for being a cool parent, take your kids out for a morning of entertainment and workshops at Caribbean Gardens Market. On Wednesday October 2nd (as the school holidays are coming to an end and you're running out of things to do) there will be a Circus Day running at the market from 9am until 12 noon and it's completely free.
The Circus Day includes a circus workshop which will be hosted by Justin Case. Justin studied at the French National School of Circus and is an internationally recognised performer who combines modern day clowning with the physical skills of an acrobat. Besides this major draw-card there will be an acro workshop to join in with, and a dance performance, both by Kim Annette Dance Studios, a well known dance school based in Wantirna South. The action will be happening in the Entertainment Gazebo outdoor area located next to the cafe.
After honing their circus skills, the kids are sure to have worked up an appetite so you could get them something yummy from the café, or from the street food section of the market. If you want to make a day of it you can spend the afternoon letting the kids run off steam at one of the playgrounds or treat them to a couple of the Caribbean Gardens rides which cost $7 each and include a boat cruise through the 'jungle' and the iconic (if dated) chairlift.
Caribbean Gardens and Market is located in Scoresby. The market itself will also be operating on Circus Day with over 1,200 undercover stalls to browse. For more information on the the market and Circus Day itself follow this link.
