Caribbean Gardens & Markets

Caribbean Gardens & Markets is the perfect place to while away your Sunday. From purchasing fresh produce of fruits and vegetables to hopping on a chopper for a ride, from enjoying a cuppa in a snug bistro to going on a jungle cruise, the place offers fun for people from all age groups.

The Gardens that house the splendid Lake Caribbean spread across roughly 100 acres in area. There are approximately 1000 stalls in the market premises that deal in goods ranging from plants to electronics, from beautiful artifacts to clothes, from paintings to other household commodities. As you browse through the booths, you will get a sense of déjà vu of the Queen Victoria Market.

But the fun doesn't end there.

There are a plethora of options in store for a great picnic. You can play your favourite game on the outstretched lush lawns or lie in the sun with a great book as your kids hop between the numerous slides, trampolines and rides. You can even prepare a BBQ feast for your friends/family or simply unwind by fishing in the serene lake.

There is an adorable toy train that circles the entire park area. Don't be surprised if you find yourself seated on a miniature seat amid ecstatic preppies. You can even hop on to a boat for a 'jungle cruise' around the lake or get chair-lifted. Each ride can be availed at a nominal price of $3 per person. For a more adventurous experience you can take a helicopter ride - $50 per person.

Though the market operates on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, rides operate only on Sundays between 11 am to 4 pm and on Wednesdays and Fridays during school holidays.

There is ample parking space and the entry ticket on Sundays (admission is free on other days) is a mere $2.50 for adults and $1 for children under 13 and senior citizens.
