Carribean Gardens is a large space dedicated to market stalls along with rides, a big playground and cafe. It is open Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with Sundays being the busiest time to go.
I have been visiting the market ever since I was a child and it hasn't really changed much over the course of time, but I still love it to this day.
My last experience at Carribean was really great as the weather was beautiful. They had a lovely man busking near the carpark and lots of great bargains to buy.
Many stalls at the market sell really great stuff including kids toys, DVDs, clothing, shoes, phone cases, games, computer parts, pet accessories, prints and frames, rugs, and other things. Some stalls accept EFTPOS but most are cash only. Everything here is brand new.
My partner and I really enjoyed the live auction that was happening when we last went. They had a man talking over a microphone and auctioning off all kinds of cool items like phones, games, lawnmowers, speakers, tablets, headphones and other items. We personally didn't bid on anything, but it was interesting to see the people who would win an item.
The cafe at Carribean is great for when you need a break, however, don't expect great food from here. Most of it is deep fried food like chips, nuggets, burger, fish, pies and sausage rolls. There are limited healthy options but they do cost a lot of money. We generally skip the food from here and just grab a cold drink and get lunch on the way home.
If you're finished shopping, it's a nice place to go walking around as the gardens are beautiful. They have a little train that goes around the gardens for a small price. The kids really love this and you'll always see the passengers waving as they go past.
My favourite time to visit Carribean is in the warmer months as the atmosphere is nicer and more pleasant. If you haven't been to Carribean Gardens yet, I suggest you gather up the family and treat them to a Sunday Funday!
