Passport readythen take this unique global journey
If you could hold the world in your hands what would you do?
Throw out the door to your hearts, Welcome to the CARGO CLUB.
Your journey commences in the Carriageway alongside the Metro Arts Theatre with the performance artists welcoming you to the Club. Inside is a relaxed ambience of cushions and stools with performers and audience mingling as one. The artists weave through the audience combining music and dance, where past and future align embracing global themes and global citizens.
Immersive and unpredictable, CARGO CLUB is spontaneously co-created by culturally and artistically diverse artists from the Centre for Australasian Theatre CfAT (Far North Queensland) and DarahRouge (West Java).
In this Club language is no barrier, you feel their joy, you experience their pain and you see the purpose of their hearts. The costumes are rich in symbolism
CARGO CLUB is a rich and provocative theatre experience that breaks conventional rules. A spotlight is shone on the fading cultural identity.
Cargo Club is co-presented by Brisbane City Council as a part of BrisAsia Festival. Performances are at 7.30pm until 18 February 2017 at the Sue Benner Theatre, Metro Arts – 109 Edward St Brisbane. To book or for further details go to the Metro Arts website.
