'So many worlds, so much to do, so little done, such things to be'. (Tennyson)
A twilight market with a difference
As a relative newcomer to the state, I can tell you that Adelaide does two things way better than its eastern sibling: glorious old buildings and markets, markets and more markets. Put the two together, throw in the creativity of South Australia artists and musicians and you have the perfect pre-Christmas twilight outing.
The venue for this particular market, Carclew House in North Adelaide, looks absolutely stunning. The organisers are promising art, design and fashion accompanied by live music and yummy food from Adelaide's renowned food trucks.
Given Carclew's mission of supporting emerging artists and providing opportunities for young people to experience and enjoy the arts, I'm expecting to be tempted by unique gifts for my family and friends. Plus the odd purchase for myself of course.
Ash Gale will be performing, fresh from his EP launch and playing the Gorgeous Festival. So will Myles Mayo and Band, who have recently released their debut album. Plus, as you'd expect at this time of year, there will be carols, performed a capella style by Choral Grief. Children will be catered for through a creative workshop.
