Carawa Street is a short tree-lined street with footpaths on both sides.
A new plant seen was a Japanese pink dianthus, which is used in Chinese herbal medicine to treat various ailments.
Crape myrtle trees are in their prime with masses of flowers, visible from a distance.
I spied a cat sitting, in a garden doing what cats usually do, just sit and watch you.
In the same garden, I photographed an old piece of agricultural equipment and when putting this photo into the article the cat was still watching me.
A nice avian experience was seeing a raven screeching from an overhead wire before departing.
Another raven was perched in a gum tree before departing to a nearby front lawn and being joined by two Indian mynas.
I was fascinated by their interaction towards each other.
Not many flowers in gardens along Carawa. Several grevilleas, irises, roses, pig’s ear succulents a valerian bush and just one agapanthus.
What did look nice was two gardens with plants in front of their fences.
A magnolia tree had a few flowers
A single bird of paradise flower was well past its prime.
Lost paradise
The tree-lined street made for a shady walk.
Some blocks were well established indicated by wooden fences and steps.
Even older was a section of paling fence.
There is always something to see in every street. Carawa Street runs off Manchester Road to Shirley Street and can be found on Melways map 37. F.10.
