Come and celebrate the Capri Cinema's 80th birthday with a night of nostalgic cinema. The celebrations will kick off with a traditional pre-movie presentation, including a newsreel, cartoon, shorts and a history lesson. The evening will be hosted by glamorous friends, Peter Goers and Anne Wills.
The 80th Birthday is on Friday the 8th of October - this will be a night of nostalgic cinema with the vintage film Strike Up the Band circa 1941. The film is a musical about a high school boy who wants to become a professional musician and his gal pal, who wants to become his best girl. They work together staging big band shows with classmates in the hopes of hitting the big time.
The Mighty Wurlitzer Organ will play beforehand. The program for the evening is bar opens from 6 pm in the foyer, 6.45 pm Barry Hall on the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ, 7 pm old school pre-movie newsreel, interval at 8 pm and vintage film Strike Up the Band showing at 8.30 pm.
