It's always a great feeling when you support local business, and why not if they provide great coffee and food?

An everyday cafe in St Kilda, you might pass by Capri Cafe without a second thought.

Funny quotes

But the moment you walk in you will be warmed by its little quirks, with Internet quotes on the wall whilst toadstools and gnomes are scattered along the bench.

The fairy tale and wonderland feel is complimented by good coffee, at only $3.20 for a small. If you pick up a loyalty card, you will also enjoy a free one for every seven coffees.

The cafe has a suitable sized menu to cater to your needs - a quick bite for breakfast or a burger, souvlaki, salad, pasta or risotto dish for your lunch needs.

They may sound like typical dishes but I enjoyed a unique Red Burger - beef with beetroot sauce and American cheese. It was filling and delicious, the beetroot flavour not overpowering.

Their salads and chips are of generous sizes too, so the cafe is a great place to find value for your money - some burgers and salads are only $10 and come on large plates.

They also have a lot of gluten free options, as well as gluten free bread, which was convenient for my friend who asked for it in her Caesar salad.

It's rare that a salad fills me up, but this one did!

The cafe may look small but the food has just enough variety and doesn't take too long - even the sandwiches in the cabinet look good. A con about being a small place is that they may run out of things - last time they didn't have any risotto available.

The coffee is generally consistent but can be a bit weaker than other places.

The friendliness at the counter service can be unpredictable depending on who is there, but overall the cafe is worth a try if you are looking for a simple and delicious lunch spot around the area.
