Cape Paterson Aquathon consists of a 400m surf swim and a 4.4km run on Sunday 21 January 2018. This is a major fundraising event for Cape Paterson Surf Life Saving Club - 118 Surf Beach Rd, Cape Paterson. All proceeds support volunteer surf life-saving patrols at Cape Paterson, so be sure to make it over, participate, have some fun, win some great prizes and show your support.

It is followed on by the Cowes Classic on Sat 3 Feb 2018 (the Penguin Swim Classic fun swim also runs simultaneously on the same day i.e. 3 Feb) and the Chanel Challenge on Sat 17 Feb 2018 .

Race time starts at 10am, however, there's a pre-race meeting at 9.45am at the clubhouse with registrations at 8am to 9.30am. However, online registration is $10 cheaper per adult, junior and team, than at the race centre on the day, and less time-consuming. Results and presentations will occur 60 minutes after race finish. The event starts on Cape Paterson First Surf Beach for a 400m surf swim followed by a run back to the clubhouse to don your shoes for a 4.4km run along the scenic clifftops north on Brown Road, west on Surf Beach Road towards Second Surf, then a loop through The Cape estate back to the finish line at First Surf carpark.
