Escape the city and visit Byron Bay's most iconic attraction
Cape Byron Lighthouse

Be among the first to see the sunrise over Australia from the beautiful Cape Byron; a piece of paradise located just two hours drive south of Brisbane and a few kilometres from the city centre of Byron Bay.

Picture perfect

Here at Australia's most easterly point sits the Cape Byron Lighthouse, an 18m high majestic stone structure that serves as Australia's most powerful lighthouse.

More than 100 years since its construction in 1901, the lighthouse continues to attract thousands of tourists and locals all year round.

Cape Byron is easily accessible on foot or by car and whichever way you decide to travel there, you can guarantee that the journey itself will be equally as impressive.

Great views no matter which way you look

If you plan to conquer one of many walking tracks in the area come prepared with comfortable shoes and plenty of fluids and enjoy the decorated trek to the lighthouse.

Simply beautiful

Upon arriving at the headland you are instantly rewarded with panoramic views of the hinterland and an endless ocean.

A picture speaks a thousand words

For those of you who are a little more eager to get to the top, a leisurely car ride along Lighthouse Road from Byron Bay will get you there in no time. Parking is limited so be prepared for slight delays and have cash on hand for the $7 parking fee on arrival.

Sunrise or sunset, you will be amazed by the beauty and peacefulness of this ever popular tourist attraction.

The most beautiful afternoon

Once you've had a chance to explore the area, unwind at the Cape Byron Lighthouse Cafe and reflect on your experience.
