Books, books and more books
Read any good books lately?

As always, I am in need of fresh reading material. It's just as well then that the Capalaba Rotary Club are holding their twice-yearly Bookfest on the weekend of October 26th, 27th and 28th.

Once again this amazing sale of preloved books and magazines will be held under canvas at the site of the Scout Den on the corner of Bainbridge and Gordon Streets, Ormiston, which was destroyed by fire some time ago.

Salivating....

Don't think a book sale will work under an array of big tent-like constructions? The Bookfest earlier in the year was the first held under canvas following the arson attack and I can reassure you that the atmosphere had a buzz about it. I attended - twice. Spent money - twice. Had a great time - twice.

As always the Bookfest will have a huge supply of children's books, novels, and non-fiction books covering topics such as Gardening, Cooking, Military, Astrology and History. I always have success at these book sales as although there are thousands of books available for purchase it is not so large that it becomes overwhelming.

Prices start at $1.00 and part of the reason that costs are kept to a minimum is because many of these books are recycled within the local community by way of a hole-in-the-wall in one of the outer buildings. It is both a popular and handy facility.

Funds raised will go towards Rotary's Redland Youth and Literacy Projects.

Entry is FREE though I recommend a few spare dollars for raffle tickets.

The Bookfest will run over the following hours:

Friday, 26th October, 2018 - 1pm to 5pm
Saturday, 27th October, 2018 - 8am to 4pm
Sunday, 28th October, 2018 -8am to 2pm

My list of 'Must Have Books' is quite impressive. What about yours?
