Great for a hit and giggle or serious practice session
They say practice makes perfect and that's certainly the case when it comes to your golf game. The Capalaba Driving Range offers comprehensive facilities to help you make the transition from weekend hacker to, at very least, slightly better weekend hacker.
Formerly known as Mister Tees, Capalaba Driving Range is located at 1181 Mt Gravatt-Capalaba Rd. It's the perfect venue for a bit of ball whacking stress relieve, a get active afternoon with the kids or more serious practice for golf tragics.
The range features 32 covered hitting bays making it an all-weather practice facility. Each bay includes artificial turf and a built in tee to get some booming drives away. Aim for distance targets or simply swing as hard as you can. There is also a well maintained grassed section where you can work exclusively on your iron play.
In addition, you can hone your short game in the small chipping area or master you putting stroke on the putting green. Disappointingly, the putting green is artificial turf, not the real thing, but still offers a chance to work on your short putts. There's even a practice bunker so you can finally sort out your sand trap woes.
Prices vary depending on days and times. A large bucket of 100 balls will set you back $13 on weekdays before 1pm and $16 on weekends, public holidays and weekdays after 1pm. Similarly, a small bucket of 50 balls costs $8 on weekdays before 1pm and $10 on weekends, public holidays and weekdays after 1pm.
