Cantina Bar and Grill

Home > Sydney > Restaurants
Published August 30th 2010
Within walking distance from Taylor Square, Cantina Bar and Grill is an essential pitstop at the beginning of a night on the town in Oxford Street.

Located between the points where Darlinghurst Road and Victoria Street meet the main drag of Oxford Street, Cantina offers a slice of Spanish fare in an already multicultural square footage.

The food, which consists of an impressive array of tapas and paella, is best enjoyed with a group, to justify an indulgent serving of churros and chorizo. When combined with the generous jugs of margaritas, Cantina balances exceptional food, with a tavern or saloon feel.

Because of Cantina's popularity, it is advisable to book on the busy weekends to guarantee a seat at one of the many long tables crowded into the pokey, two-story premises.

Yum I love Cantina. If you go in a group (4 people minimum) you can order the banquet for around $40 and will literally be given more food than you can handle. It's all delicious too. The grilled haloumi is to die for and I loooved the chickpea salad and the five dips dip plate. Their dusted calamari and lamb/pork meatballs are also amazing and definitely try the patatas bravas which seems to be a tapas staple. Complete the tapas experience with a jug of sangria!! Also I agree - definitely book!!
