I'm a grandmother, a retired teacher, an avid reader and Pinterest addict who loves historical re-enactment, English Country Dance, writing and Op Shopping. My business www.Step Into History.com.au is designed to help children experience history.
According to the young man behind the counter only Cannon Hill residents know about it. Well, that's not true ... cos I know and I come from Salisbury. Three of my friends - from Morningside, Moorooka and Shailer Park also know.
However, it is nothing short of a miracle that we found it as it is tucked at the back of the very end part of Save City Shops at Cannon Hill ... practically all alone.
They don't advertise, don't have a website or a Facebook page. They are just there!
It is basically a Cheap Shop. The first part of the shop is Everything $1. The list of stock is endless - stickers, brushes and combs, dishes, packets herbs, undies, socks, containers, hooks, felt pads for furniture feet ...
This is where I look when I can't find odd things I need like unpainted paper fans. It is also where I buy small gifts for my Christmas Shoe boxes- combs, stickers, key rings, aussie animals, notebooks, balls & head bands.
Secret Directions on how to find them: Drive down Wynnum Rd go past Creek Rd, past Kmart Plaza till you are opposite Murarrie Recreation Ground. Drive into the back part which is Save City Shopping Centre.
Go to the last doorway in the last building. As you walk in there is Kids Clothing Shop, a butcher, a coffee shop [good service, great coffee] on the right and BCF on the left.Walk straight ahead. See it?
Now you know.
While you're bargain hunting, turn at the Coffee Shop and check out Lifeline and Trads Liquidation Store which has all sorts of goods. I mostly go to Trads for great sewing trims, braids and lace.
The items in the first picture are for a $ each .. but anything after that are priced over 2$. Most of the items are priced above Bargain City or reject shop or Crazy clarks for that matter. Thanks Lynne for showing this shop but driving from clayfield to Cannon Hill was definitely not worth it.. I would give it a miss.
