Canning River Regional Park is a great place for all to visit.
Canning River Regional Park itself has trails leading to many different suburbs, so you can opt for a short or longer distance, depending on your preference.
The options for different routes also give you the option to vary your walking/running/biking adventures each time. I should also mention the river is also open to anyone with a kayak. It's a very popular pastime, especially at the weekend.
But if you are not into so much activity and would simply like a nice place to dine whilst enjoying a view, Canning River Cafe is ideally located and ready with a full breakfast and lunch menu offering up all the usual staples.
The park also offers plenty of benches and BBQ areas for families wanting to enjoy a leisurely picnic. With plenty of open space, there's an abundance of room for children to run around.
A final note about the weekend crowds. Two recent additions have 'set up camp' on Saturdays; HBF run a training morning, where it puts its members through a morning fitness regime. Secondly there is Park Run, where a group of running enthusiasts meet at 8am each Saturday for a 5k run around the Canning River.
