A real hidden gem. One of many parks and reserves in the Croydon Hills area set in its natural bush setting.

is a very pleasant walk around a central elongated lake. The path is well formed and perhaps a little steep in one short section, otherwise very easy going.

It is literally in the middle of suburbia with houses bordering on all sides, but mostly hidden by masses of trees between the path and properties.

It is very popular with dog owners as my weekday walk encountered six dogs with their respective owners, all well behaved, especially the dogs.

There are three short boardwalk bridges spanning little gullies which appear would feed the lake after heavy rain.

Ducks were the main inhabitants of the wet part of the reserve with a few dusky moorhens swimming around and diving head first searching for food.

The only facilities around the walk are the occasional bench seat positioned for the sitter to observe the serene view before them. One bench has two possums carved into the backrest.

Like most of the smaller suburban parks they cater for the local residents, but this one is worth seeking out if you are in the area for a pleasant short walk and an up-close view of ducks.

At the entrance to the reserve in Croydon Hills Road, there is a dedicated parking lane which is beneficial to passing traffic.
