The class is $100 for 4 hours and during this time you will make a total of 16 candles: pillar candles, votive candles, travel tin candles, glass set container candles, tea lights, floating candles and popular fragrant melts for oil burners. All equipment, products, instructions, candle containers (glassware, tins etc) and refreshments are included. This class is exceptional value for money.
Our classroom was well set out with each participant's candle moulds and containers. Our work table was well laid out so everyone had plenty of room, equipment and instructions. There was an abundant assortment of waxes, colour dyes and fragrances to choose from to make our candle creations to each person's liking. Our class size was 8 people on the day we attended.
Our teacher, Adele, was fabulous. She took the time to explain what we would achieve from the class and then explained each of the products we would be using. Throughout our class Adele was offering invaluable advice and suggestions that would assist us all when we would be looking to make our candles at home - many from her own learnings - which is great for anyone learning something new. Who knew the wrong size wick will affect how your candle burns? We learnt where to shop to get our supplies at reasonable prices The colours and fragrances of the candles we were making were just outstanding. It was interesting to see how the wax when set created a lantern effect.
The class was timed appropriately and had opportunities for interaction with other participants; it was a real social event! Adele provided a mid class refreshment break of tea, coffee and juice. It gave us all a chance to admire the first 8 candles we had created.
We then moved onto our final 8 candles, which were soy candles. These were dreamy, creamy colours that looked fantastic set in glass, tin and the melts container, and they all smelt amazing.
After we finished making our final 8 candles, we retreated to the balcony for a light snack as we waited for our candles to set. Then it was back inside to wrap up our candle creations.
Here they are.......
Here are the candles I made at Candele's Candle Class
I couldn't wait to get home and light one of my new 'handmade by me' candles. It smelt amazing, the fragrance I had chosen was 'Uplifting'. I think my candles look and smell fantastic, even if I do say so myself.
I really loved doing this class as I got to learn a new skill that will definitely become my new hobby (I've already placed and received my order to make more candles) and it was just so much fun!
Best of all, I am now able to create beautiful handmade candles for family and friends all made with love - what a perfect gift.
I booked this for my wife as she loves candles. Now with the great experience she had and the friendly tuition given by Adele this will now save me hundreds of dollars over the years making her own scented candles.
Highly recommend this.
If anyone would like to book a class please email me. It is such a joy to have such kind words said about my class and so nice of Donna to actually take the time to do this.
Many thanks this has made my day and a beautiful surprise x x
I attended a candle making class in January 2015 and it was an amazing experience. The variety of candles produced were marvellous with friendly advice and guidance from Adele throughout the morning. Great social get together and met some great new friends. Would highly recommend the class.
