Help raise much needed funds for Cancer research and support
The Cancer Council is there for so many people who need help during a difficult time, and there are so many avenues that they are involved in, both in research and in hands-on relief/help for the public. I can attest to this as I have been there myself and their support, empathy and friendliness is unsurpassed.
To this end, they constantly need to raise money as without these funds, the research would be slowed down, and the public could not get such a valuable service - and it is often that they call on these services at a very vulnerable time in their lives.
This is a list of events sponsored by the Cancer Council in order to raise awareness and get those much-needed funds.
1. Relay for Life - Northam Relay For Life is a fun and moving overnight experience that helps raise these vital funds for the Cancer Council's research, prevention, information and support services.
Relay is a chance for the Northam community to assist with local cancer survivors, patients and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost to cancer, as well as to raise money to help save more lives.
