The word is out. Canberra is set to be inflicted with a zombie apocalypse on November 2, but there is no need to press that panic button. You will be relieved to know that this is the famous Zombie walk that has been happening all around the world for several years, and is now making its way to our capital for the first time to strut their stuff and raise money and awareness for the Brain Foundation . This organisation is the brains behind the world-class research here in Australia on neurological disorders, brain disease and brain injuries.

This walk is for all ages and is a FREE event. You can dress up and look as blood-curdling as much as you want, just like a real zombie! But as part of the safety measures, please register your attendance prior to the day so that organisers can track the total number of participants to ensure everyone has a great time and no humans or zombies are harmed.

All zombies will have to unite at Regatta Point at 3pm to get acquainted with their fellow ghouls. At exactly 3:30pm, all zombies and the undead will emerge and take to the city streets and malls with their limping and shuffling.

Maintaining a façade of horror maybe the theme of the event, but as a zombie living in the new era, there are certain rules that we must abide to ensure that this event can be enjoyed by all. The rules are listed on the event website .

So let yourself rot and bring out your creepiest and spookiest features for this great cause.
