The Canberra Picnic Train, presented by the Canberra Rail Museum, will be running from Canberra to Bungendore and return on the weekend of
26th & 27th March and then again for the
Easter long weekend! Get your friends and family together and experience the joy of riding on a heritage steam train through the spectacular Molonglo Gorge. There will also be three tunnels to go through, which the kids are guaranteed to love!
There will also be a Buffet Car with limited food options, so it is recommended that passengers bring their own picnic hampers on board. If you would like to bring a bottle of wine or alcohol to enjoy on the trip, BYO alcohol is allowed but large eskies are not permitted. This unique experience always sells out quickly, so book in early to secure your seat!

The Canberra Picnic Train to Bungendore is a round trip, meaning that passengers
don't get out at Bungendore and the train returns to Canberra. When you book, there are several options to choose from, depending on how many people you have in your group. Ensure you read the website carefully and check the seating will suit your group.
Private Compartment - $300 per group
This option is for groups of up to 8 people with an entire compartment to yourselves. There are tables fitted so that you can bring your own picnic and enjoy the trip in your own private compartment.
Four-Seater Booth - $200 per group
This option is for 4 people with a table.
First Class Duo — $150 for two people
Window seating for two people with a large individual seat on either side of a table.
Lounge First Class Duo — $150 for two people
Lounge seating for two people in an air-conditioned lounge carriage.
