Uniting Cultures Under the Moon
For aeons, people have been amazed at the shining light seen in the night's sky known as the Moon. It takes 27.3 days for the moon to orbit Earth and to rotate on its axis thereby offering onlookers from Earth the phases of full, half and new moons.

In partnership with the Canberra Theatre Centre, Canberra's Moon Festival is on again this year after a very successful launch in 2016. The theme for this year's event is "tie us together" and is about celebrating the diversity and unity of all cultures working within the Canberra community. This year's event will be on Sunday 1st October at the Centre's Forecourt from 1.00pm to 8.00pm. Last year's event attracted approximately 6,000 guests in one afternoon.

Entry to this year's event is $2.00 person or $5.00 for a family. This year Canberra Moon Festival is collaborating with OzHarvest to promote the fight against food waste and sustainable awareness and in doing so is encouraging attendees to bring along a can of food (within the expiry date stated) donating it to the onsite OzHarvest milk crate station. In doing so your entry will be free into the event. One can of food equates to one free entry and two tins for a family of five. The food will be donated to approximately 65 charities within the Canberra and Queanbeyan region.

This year you will be entertained for six hours of on-going cultural performances which include Chinese lion dance, classic music instruments to Korean pop dance, Thai Dance to HitParade, a well-known local band and Canberra's very own Voice Australia 2017 finalist Ms Lucy Sugerman.

Asian Inspirations will also be handing out goodies bags, ranging from food to recipe books. This is an alcohol-free event for the whole family. Why not join the organisers in making this another successful year. More information for this exciting event can be located on their website.
