New to Canberra, I love exploring this city and the secrets that it holds with my family.
A celebration of music & dance outside the Canberra Theatre
The Canberra Moon Festival will be held on Sunday, 1st October at the Canberra Theatre Centre forecourt, between 1pm - 8pm. Featuring the theme "Tie Us Together", the Canberra Moon Festival will celebrate unity and diversity by uniting community groups and local Canberrans, all coming together to celebrate the Moon Festival.
Entry to the festival is by gold coin entry and then sit back and enjoy 6 hours of cultural performances including Chinese lion dances, classical music instruments, Korean pop dances, traditional Thai dancing, local band HitParade and Canberra singer and songwriter Lucy Sugarman. Whilst there, also enjoy Asian cuisines and engaging activities.
The Canberra Moon Festival is in partnership with OzHarvest to collect and donate excess food after the event to charities and homeless people in the ACT region.
See the Canberra Moon Festival Facebook for more details and updates.
You are encouraged to bring a can of excess food (within the expiry date) and donate to the onsite OzHarvest milk crate station. Every portion of food will offset entry fee for 1 person. Two portions per family, up to 5.
