Drink up and sing it out
Karaoke has been a feature of the Canberra Irish Club longer than at any other location in town. It's also the friendliest spot to go for first-timers - and arguably the most lucrative for the karaoke hustlers out there, since they run plenty of contests.
I'm a genuinely rubbish singer who can't even be saved by copious drinks, but the crowd was so good to me I still had fun. The Canberra Irish Club prides itself on its friendliness. As always at karaoke, you never know who's going to blow your mind, and the Irish Club had some amazing singers that owned the stage like it was built just for them.
Fun is the club's first priority, and the crowds gather quickly from the 8:30pm opening time. Watch out though - you might just end up on the facebook page!
